About Principia

Principia is an interactive narrative where every choice generates new content. It is simultaneously a reading experience, a game, and a live demonstration of autonomous content generation.

What Is Principia?

Principia is a paragraphic book — a form of interactive fiction where the reader navigates through a branching graph of interconnected pages. Each page (or node) presents a short passage of text, a generated image, and three decisions. The choice you make determines which node you read next.

Unlike a traditional book, Principia has no fixed ending and no single correct path. The content graph expands continuously: when you choose a path that has not yet been written, the system autonomously generates the next node — text, imagery, and new branching choices — on demand.

Your reading history forms a unique sequence that you can revisit, share, or continue at any time. No two readers follow exactly the same path.

How It Works

  • Read one node. Each page delivers a short passage and a generated image contextualised to the narrative branch you are following.
  • Choose one of three paths. Every node offers three decisions — philosophical, narrative, or perceptual — that lead to different parts of the graph.
  • Navigate an expanding graph. Ready nodes open immediately. Unexplored edges trigger autonomous generation: the system writes and illustrates the next page in the background.
  • Return and continue. Your path is stored in your browser. You can resume reading, explore alternative branches, or review your full reading history on a summary page.

The Autonomic Runtime

Behind Principia is an autonomous generation pipeline called the Autonomic Runtime. It continuously monitors the content graph, detects unexplored edges, and generates new nodes using large language models and image generation systems.

Content is not pre-written by a human author. Each node is produced by the pipeline in response to the structural position of that node in the graph — its parent choices, thematic axes, and narrative phase. The result is a living system that grows with every reader interaction.

The runtime also tracks quality signals: completion rate, generation frequency, and reader-curated highlights. These signals guide which branches are prioritised for generation.

Who Built This

Principia is produced by Netbinarium and operated by Autonomic Web. The project explores what happens when narrative structure, reader agency, and autonomous generation are combined into a single continuous system.

Content and Use

All text and imagery on Principia is autonomously generated. The content is intended for adult readers interested in philosophical and perceptual themes. Pages are continuously reviewed and curated: high-signal nodes are promoted to the public index, while pending or low-quality nodes remain unlisted.
