Amberned Motion
A brass tool scrapes against calcified stone, peeling back layers of silt to reveal a heavy leaden ore pitted by acid erosion. Deep within the center, a dense amber core protects a fossilized wing, suspended mid-beat as if time had crystallized into glass. This artifact functions not for calculation, but to preserve the stillness of what has already occurred. To touch the gears is to decide whether one honors this frozen record or breaks it to begin anew.
