Vein Light
Palm pressed to granite, luminous pathways flowed like rivulets beneath the skin, a warmth blooming inward from bone. Pearlescent dust settled into every ridge, granular like volcanic pumice over polished diorite; pockets of sulfur released a faint acrid scent when touched. Bronze lines pulsed faintly, suggesting not beginnings or ends, but an endless interweaving that settled into quiet stillness.
