Lapidary Symmetry
Within the granite, celadon light gathered into shifting constellations against indigo depths, tiny pulses visible across polished surfaces. Comparing several stones showed no connection between these luminous patterns and their material makeup; instead, variations appeared related to how long each was worked—brighter inclusions marked extended polishing. One face held sparse veins of light like fractured routes while another bloomed with a solid glow. A metallic tang lingered on the palate, the faint taste of diamond dust, as if the stone itself remembered the friction and pressure it endured.
